Agricultural Economics

The Agriculture Economics Section was established in 1987 and is currently engaged in compilation, analysis and trends finding from various types of data related to sugarcane agriculture especially cost of sugarcane cultivation, effect of different inputs and technologies on sugarcane and sugar yields, Season-wise and variety-wise area under sugarcane in area of different sugar mills. The section is assessing data of quality seed material and damages due to natural calamities. In addition, finding and information to the Government officials for future planning is provided. The section engaged in giving guidance for statistical aspect to scientist and teaching to students of sugarcane agriculture and Government schemes to farmers & Government officials.
